The Mentoring Center offers digital learning opportunities for youth and adults.  Our academic, career and new business development instructors use animated, interactive curriculum that engages students like never before.  Our integrated technology approach has improved student learning rates.  Services include:

Youth Programs
The Mentoring Center offers new tutorial techniques for visual learners.  Our animated, computer-assisted lessons appeal to students that typically do not respond to textbooks and lectures.  Students improve reading speed (words per minute), reading comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, math, writing, science and homework scores while learning to use the Internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.  Grades K - 12.  Our student to teacher ratio is ten to one.  Click here for detailed tutorial information.

FCAT Prep
These 2-hour sessions offer small group, engaging lessons in math and reading followed by individualized, computer-based practice and drill.  Our interactive lessons are great for students that typically do not respond to textbooks, lectures and paper work.  Grades K-12.  For a demo of our animated lessons, register today! 

Saturday Walk-In Tutorials
Every Saturday, at our West Palm Beach computer lab, mom's can run errands while "eligible" students prepare for the FCAT, complete homework and school-based projects.  Mom, this is the perfect time for your student to research, write and print that middle-school science project!  Sessions are as follows:

8:00 - 9:30 a.m.                Grades 2 - 3           (Intensive Reading)

          10:00 - 12:00 noon           Grades K-5            (Math and Reading)

          1:00 - 3:00 p.m.                 Grades 6-8            (Math and Reading)        

         3:00 - 5:00 p.m.                 Grades 9-12          (Math, Reading, Credit Recovery)

After-school Tutorials
Convenient times and locations, the Mentoring Center offers our proven, animated, digital learning tutorials at your student's school or at your after-school center (SACC, Clubs or other Community Centers).  Register today to learn more about the No Child Left Behind, Supplemental Educational Services (SES) free tutorial sessions.

Our services are now available throughout Miami/Dade, Broward, Glades, Martin, Orange, Palm Beach and Seminole counties.

College Application Workshops
In addition to offering facilitator-lead, computer-based SAT and ACT prep, the Mentoring Center offers workshops that assist students with completing the college application process:  writing the essay, securing letters of recommendation, requesting and rehearsing for the interview.  We have particular expertise in this area since our team includes college professors, undergraduate and graduate interviewers for the nations top universities.  Call today to register for our next class.  Attend our financial aid application workshops!

WEEKEND Lockin
Coming this fall!  Students check-in on Friday afternoon and play age-appropriate Internet games that require strategic and critical thinking.  Players compete against each other and world-wide opponents.  Games are pre-selected and well supervised by our staff.  Weaved into the evening sessions are learning opportunities. Student learn valuable Internet-based research skills and resources including how to use the homework-help chat room.  Pizza and drinks are included, students check-out Saturday morning!

Adults Programs
Ready for a career change?  Need assistance with a work-place project?  Need updated, job specific resumes?  Want to start your own business?  Our highly qualified, professional team are leaders and experts in many functional areas and industries.   Eligible participants can register and receive long-term mentoring in starting a new business, GED preparation, Internet job search, resume writing and parent workshop.

GED Prep
The Mentoring Center offers "free" computer-based GED preparation classes.  Work with and an instructor at your own pace using our GED prep software. Classes are Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Workforce Readiness
Register for our self-paced Workforce readiness class and learn to create job-specific resumes, search Internet-based job banks and apply on-line.  Also learn to use Microsoft Office Suite's WORD, PowerPoint and Excel.  Rehearse for job interviews with our career coaches.  We've had great success landing our student's resumes on the "short list".  Call today to learn more.

Entrepreneur Classes
Every Wednesday evening, join our Entrepreneur class and start your business plan and three year budget forecast.  Learn Microsoft PowerPoint and create your sales presentation.  Apply for start up funding from various resources.  Our Master's level course in business development with help start or grow your business. 

MOM's Morning Out
Kids love computers and we love showing kids the many academic, recreational and constructive ways in which the Internet can be used.  Join our SES program and you'll have the added bonus of "dropping your kids off" Saturday morning for additional homework help, tutoring and a little free time to run those much needed errands!  Call today to learn more.
