About Us

Founded November 6, 2002, the Mentoring Center Incorporated is a non-profit, 501 (c) (3)  public charity. 

Our mission is to provide youth and adults of our nation’s most challenged urban, remote and migrant communities; academic, career and small business development training and mentoring that leads to profitable employment, economic self-sufficiency, personal success and productive citizenship.

Residents of these disadvantaged neighborhoods now have access to a team of seasoned, cross-functional, cross-industry professionals and knowledge area experts who are committed to life-long learning and mentoring.

Our highly qualified team shares expertise in primary, secondary and post secondary education, career development, new business development including strategic planning, marketing, accounting, and finance.  Each team member and staff person agrees to provide free knowledge area expertise and life-long mentoring to registered Mentoring Center participants.

The U.S. Department of Education and the State of Florida have reviewed our academic assessment tools, propriety animated lessons and record of effectiveness resulting in the designating the  Mentoring Center for five (5) consecutive years as an approved Supplemental Educational Services (SES) Provider. 

The Florida Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development has approved the Mentoring Center as a Community Contribution Tax Credit Program Sponsor and therfore offers Florida businesses a 50% credit on corporate income tax, insurance premium tax or sales tax refunds on donations.

The Mentoring Center partners with local education agencies, aligns it's tutorial lessons with state standards, acts as a community liaison, and provides parental workshops to ensure parents understand and act-on information distributed by local school districts.

The Mentoring Center develops, in-house, interactive, hands-on, computer-assisted curriculum and lesson for all its workshops and classes.  We are a technology-driven organization. Our enrichment and remedial tutorial services are equal to or exceed today's large for-profit training and supplemental educational service providers.  Our new business, for profit and not-for-profit, development workshops, align with accelerated MBA programs.
